Why We Decided to Support the United Way
As a local learning and development organization, we too believe in the power of creating stronger communities. Through a partnership with the United Way, we’ll be able to:
- directly support initiatives that uplift vulnerable populations in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, ensuring their community remains inclusive
- provide our team with meaningful volunteer and community engagement opportunities
- help employees see the impact of their work beyond business objectives, creating a sense of purpose and camaraderie
- contribute to long-term community growth through the United Way’s established, community-focused programs
- invest in initiatives that address pressing social challenges such as mental health, poverty, access to education
What the United Way Does
UWWRC has a long-standing commitment to helping people who are facing a variety of challenges. The organization works with local agencies to find solutions for these challenges and relies on community support to implement them for a lasting impact.
Some key programs that UWWRC supports include youth empowerment by offering mentorship and resources for young people and helping them build resilience, confidence, and essential life skills; family support such as emergency housing and food programs to aid families through difficult times; and mental health resources allowing residents to access services they might not have otherwise received.
We are proud to partner with the United Way and encourage all businesses – big and small – to support local non-profits.
